What is Coaching?

Coaching is a collaborative partnership in which clients take time to align their heads and hearts, to imagine, explore and identify what matters most. Clients gain self- awareness, identify strengths and values, clarify goals and take conscious action towards meaningful and sustainable change.

ADHD

ADHD Coaching supports clients to understand their unique brain wiring and in turn helps them manage their attention, hyperactivity and impulsivity successfully. Coaching encourages curiosity and builds confidence. Clients are able to take meaningful action to embrace positive change.

“I began working with Emily for the more obvious ADHD-related concerns. I had just started my first job after 10 years as a freelancer and needed help with focus, time management, and confidence that I could handle this big new responsibility, while still finding time for my own creative passions. The guidance she’s given me for those things alone has helped me negotiate several significant raises, set boundaries at work, and make steady progress on writing my novel. Coaching has boosted my confidence through the roof.

What I had not expected was that she would also help me do some deep soul-work. I shared with her some of my greatest fears about my career, relationship, and my life, and she helped me take things that felt like very BIG problems and turn them into small, manageable actions.

She has an incredible way of helping me cut through all the brain chatter and dive right into whatever challenge I’m grappling with.

In short: WOW. Emily is brilliant and compassionate and funny and wise and someone I feel so grateful to know and have in my corner, rooting for me.” Sarah R.

Children are our best teachers.

My son inspired me to become a coach when it was clear that traditional school was not a good fit for him. I turned to The ADHD Coach Academy to get educated about his diagnosis and in doing so, realized I too have struggled with ADD throughout my life. My own diagnosis has been life changing and has deepened and strengthened my relationship with my son in numerous ways. Coaching has made me a more compassionate, joyful and patient parent. I am thrilled to share what I’ve learned, to not only help individuals and families manage their lives more successfully, but to also have more fun, joy and connection with the people that matter most.

With over thirty years of experience as an artist, entrepreneur, writer and educator, coaching allows me to utilize my expertise and love of the creative process. Coaching is for anyone who wants to make change and the creative model allows all types of clients to approach challenge and change with curiosity instead of anxiety. I also know first hand that creatives need specialized support from someone who understands the power of the practice. As a coach, I most enjoy assisting clients in finding purpose in their authentic creative expression.
